Rote Weißeritz Loop Hike

You’ll start our short hike at the Botanical Garden in Schellerhau. Walk briefly along the main street, then turn left at the Oberer Gasthof and follow the green trail markers to the “Gute-Laune-Brücke.” Here, the Rote Weißeritz is still just a stream, meandering idyllically through the trees. After crossing the wooden bridge, turn right. A narrow path leads you along the stream. At the end of the path, turn left at the rest area over the bridge and then right onto the Geisterweg. This trail takes you to the Schinderbrücke. Here, keep left and follow the Schinderweg and the Breiten Flügelweg to the Schellermühle. Turn sharply left once more onto the Teufelino Hiking Trail. Follow this trail along the Rote Weißeritz. At the rest area by the “Gute-Laune-Brücke,” turn right one last time to reach the starting point at the Botanical Garden.
