The Schinderbrücke bridge, which crosses the Rote Weißeritz river, is 230 years old and as good as preserved in its original state.
According to the chronicles, the Schinderbrücke was built between 1789 and 1790 and replaced a wooden bridge. In the past, the farmstead of the "Abdeckers" (Schinders) for the Altenberg district stood near the Schinderbrücke. The old tin road, which led from Altenberg to Freiberg and was very busy in the 18th century, crossed this bridge. In addition to tin, charcoal in particular was transported for the Freiberg smelting works. The bridge has survived all floods. The structure was reconstructed in 1992. The bridge is a listed building.
