Pollenitz: A Small Mountain with a Big Impact

An old mine tunnel, known as the “Toniloch,” where silver was mined long ago; the legendary Kuchlbrunn nearby; a ski jump that has almost disappeared today—but where Austrian championships were once even held—and an Icelandic horse farm with many horses and dozens of horse-loving girls are highlights that make this little mountain feel really big. Right next to it is the Köck vineyard, which has won numerous awards for its outstanding wines! Given the excellent view, that’s hardly surprising😊!:) To top it off, there are two outstanding restaurants: the Jausenstation Buttazoni in an idyllic south-facing location and the Gasthof Wadl in a stunning spot with a panoramic view right at the top of the mountain. You should stop by both restaurants—they each have their own unique charms. You can start at the old exit of the former ski jump complex, but you can also begin in Feldkirchen or Amthof, especially since there’s parking available there!
