A beautiful panoramic route with fantastic views of the Nagelfluh chain, the Ehrenschwanger Valley, and to the north, the Konstanz Valley. The return route passes through a wildlife protection area, which is closed from mid-November to mid-May. Also recommended as a varied trail running route.
Right next to the Hochgrat cable car at the parking lots, cross the Weißach and follow the hiking trail downstream to the next fork.
At this point, a path turns right via switchbacks through the forest up to Prodel Alpe. Then it goes partly along the ridge and partly along the crest eastwards over the Prodel peak to the highest point of Denneberg at 1,427 m elevation.
At the next fork, keep right and continue downhill on the forest road past the Obere Klamm Alp, Laubgund, and Unterdenneberg alp.
Upon reaching the forest edge, turn right and pass over the Holzschlag and Untere Schwarzenberg alps through the wildlife protection area, which is closed during the winter months - see more info on the Nature Park Nagelfluhkette website.
The last 1.5 kilometers descend steeply. On the forest road you reach the valley floor of the Ehrenschwanger Valley, cross the Weißach again, and return to the starting point at the Hochgrat cable car.
