The magnificent reconstruction has elevated the national monument - the Renaissance-Baroque castle in Halič to a lucrative place of relaxation and experience. It is currently a luxury hotel with a restaurant for everyone who wants to experience the "genius loci" and feel the spirit of the original inhabitants.
The jewel of Novohrad can be found in the south of Slovakia, in the village of Halič, 8 km from the town of Lučenec. The origins of the history of the castle in Halič date back to the 12th century, and from the 16th century until the mid-20th century it was owned by the noble Forgach family. In 2018, after 10 years of reconstruction work, the Renaissance-Baroque Castle Hotel**** Galicia Nueva opened its doors to the general public.

In the village of Halič, you can park directly under the castle on Zámocká street, where there is a larger parking lot. From there, it is only a few meters' walk to Halič Castle (about 5 minutes). If you want to extend your walk, head to the castle park, which is 2.4 km from the castle, or take the shortened 300 m route via the stairs leading directly from the castle to the park. The extensive English park with a pond provides a perfect space for relaxation and regeneration under the tree canopies.
