Tips and suggestions
The path crosses a forest-wildlife sanctuary under the Wildalpjoch. However, this is only relevant in winter.Roadbook
From the bus stop "Unteres Sudelfeld, Youth Hostel" follow the Sudelfeldstraße a short way north to the Lacherspitze hiking car park. Here begins one of the paths to Kasererwand. Across meadow terrain, it goes up to a fork; here right over a slope up, flat through a ravine and up to the paved road, which comes up via Schweinsteigeralm. Either on this road in three hairpin bends up to its end or shorten twice by footpath to the upper buildings of Lacheralm. After a final steep road section, it ends in a small meadow hollow below Lacherspitz and Wildalpjoch. The hiking trail forks; choose the right and just before the next alpine building, turn right again. After a short flat section in the forest, you reach a ridge. Together with a hiking path coming directly from Schweinsteigeralm, you ascend the south slope until you reach the ridge path leading from Wildalpjoch. The last minutes to the summit of Kasererwand are rocky. The path deviates around a rock ledge to the north and with a few meters, for which you will also use your hand on the rock, you reach the narrow summit.
The descent either follows the ascent path or you continue along the ridge westwards and descend via Wildalpjoch.
