Roadbook
From the parking lot, go down 150 m to the town hall.
This route is marked with a yellow ring.
Turn left onto the D 75 for about 250 m. After the last house in the village, turn right onto Rue des Hirondelles.
Pass near the An winery (tasting by appointment), continue straight ahead, cross the D 654 to reach the Traenheim reservoir about 500 m further.
A picnic table awaits you behind this reservoir with a 360° panoramic view. Continue straight on this path which leads to la croix d'Irmstett after a short narrow passage.
At the crossroads, turn left to reach Traenheim. From there, the path is common with the GR 534 (Stanislas-Kléber) to Wangen.
At the north exit of the village, the route passes in front of an old mill, just before crossing the bike path, to reach the D 220.
Take this road to the left for a few meters before taking the first path on the right going up through the orchards to reach the vineyards.
A short break near this table in the vineyard is recommended to admire the surrounding landscape. About 100 m further, be careful not to miss the next path on the right leading to the fortified city of Wangen.
After the cemetery, turn left onto Rue des Lilas and continue straight on the hillside path leading to the D 75. Cross this road very carefully as it is a mountain pass.
Go along the dog training center, pass the forest barrier, then take the first path on the left leading to the Geierstein pavilion.
Descend left on the stony path then immediately turn right to reach the orientation table overlooking Westhoffen, the cherry capital of Alsace.
At the next fork, turn left to find the vineyard at the edge of the forest. The path goes down to the village, passes near the Jewish cemetery (worth visiting) and further left, the town hall with its ramparts.
Continue straight then turn right onto Rue Birris which leads to St Martin Church, continue on Rue Neuve and turn left at the next fork.
A little further opposite the shed, take the path on the left which takes you back to Balbronn. After the church, turn right; a little further up, go up right on Rue des Champs which returns to the starting point.
