AZIMUT
Panoramic walk,
at times challenging, with varied landscapes and rich in many tree species.
The route is part of the Grande Anello dei Sibillini (GAS) which extends within the Monti Sibillini National Park, for over 120 km.
The route, which takes place at not very high altitudes, crosses meadows and woods and presents very varied panoramic views and of particular naturalistic interest; the vegetation is rich in holm oak, mountain maple, juniper, hornbeam, and many other tree species. Particularly suggestive is the view of Lago di Fiastra from above (created in the 1950s for hydroelectric power production), as well as the red blades.

Equipment
The trail, if started from Monastero, is not well marked. For the steep and rocky part of the route, the use of trekking poles is strongly recommended. The wooden bridge built to cross the Rio Bagno is in very poor condition; therefore, evaluate, depending on the water level, the opportunity to cross directly through the stream. In the meadow areas, you may encounter flocks and their sheepdogs; maintain a detached attitude, do not run away, do not stare them in the eyes.
WARNINGS on the use of the contents of the Azimut project: The extent of the trails in this network is very large and subject to rapid and unpredictable degradation due to natural or human causes, therefore the available human and economic resources are insufficient to resolve all critical issues in real time; however, the network exists although sometimes it may present problems of passability and/or orientation. Furthermore, electronic GPS routes may contain errors due to the instruments used or the methods of surveying or tracing; they should be considered an aid for locating the itinerary and navigation and do not replace the topographic map and traditional orientation tools. For these reasons, the provision of public information activities, monitoring, trail and signage maintenance by the volunteer coordination of CAI Macerata, does not exclude the existence of natural obstacles and difficulties nor the risks connected to frequenting the natural environment, and anyone undertaking a route/itinerary, even if marked, does so under their own responsibility to know and control the means adopted, to wear appropriate clothing, to have undertaken the necessary physical preparation, to be aware of orientation techniques, reading of the territory and maps, to be able to recognize and assess the risks of their behavior and the precautions to mitigate their effects.
