Follow the signs: Route 1
Walking towards Federsee, you reach the Federsee car park, where the Federsee boardwalk begins. At first, you cross extensive moor meadows. These species-rich hay meadows are the habitat of numerous animals and plants specialized in wetlands. Benches invite you to rest and enjoy. The boardwalk then continues through reed several meters high to the observation tower at the canal, the outflow of Federsee. From above, you have an impressive overview of the unique moor landscape: to the northeast, the lake opens, surrounded by reed beds. Following this are sedge beds and moor forests.
On the comfortable wooden boardwalk, slightly elevated, you continue through dense reed beds to the viewing terrace in the lake. Waterfowl gather here. Benches invite you to linger. A tip is the phenomenal sunrises and sunsets over the lake.
