The Faulenbacher Valley is a tip for nature lovers: somewhat hidden, mostly car-free, and full of experiences.
The first half of the route runs at height over the Kobel and repeatedly offers beautiful views down into the Faulenbacher Valley. You may already know the legendary Alatsee as the setting of the crime novel "Seegrund." The return route goes along the valley floor past idyllic lakes, species-rich flower meadows, and fascinating rock formations. East of the Mittersee, you can take a healthy break at the Kneipp facility in Bad Faulenbach. Discover culinary, medicinal, and alpine herbs in the small herb garden and try the adjacent "forest telephone." The following "path of the senses" offers further experiences for all five senses with balancing and barefoot trails as well as observation stations.
Author’s recommendation
In summer, you can combine the route with a refreshing dip in the Alatsee, Obersee, or Mittersee.
