Between Hopfen and Forggensee, the route leads through the ice-age shaped pre-alpine landscape.
Already from the lakeside promenade in Hopfen am See, you have a view of the Ammergau, Lechtal, and Tannheimer peaks, which rise like guardians over the Füssen region. The Schorenmoos, a small wooded area on the southern shore of the Hopfensee, dates back to a post-glacial moor. Via Eschach with the small Leonhardi chapel, you reach the Bleick (Blaik) viewpoint. Enjoy the box seat view of mountains and Forggensee. Above the pilgrimage church St. Urban, it goes back over wide meadows to Hopfen. In Haus Hopfensee, you can end the loop with coffee or a tasty snack.
Hikers with some basic fitness but also families will feel comfortable on this loop. Almost half of the route runs on asphalt.

Opposite the village shop Hopfen, descend to the shore path and walk left around the lake. Passing the campground, the path leads straight ahead through an avenue. Here, follow the signs toward Eschach until you reach a small bus shelter. Cross the street here and walk through Eschach before keeping right at the next junction. Follow the path until you reach the small Leonhardi Chapel and finally after a short straight stretch, turn left towards Erkenbollingen and always follow this path. At the end of the path, cross to the other side of the federal road and climb up to the Bleick viewpoint. From there, the path goes down again to the federal road, where you turn right through a pedestrian tunnel to Häusern. This hiking trail takes you towards Enzensberg and Hopfen am See. Shortly before the forest, turn left onto the Dotzenwangweg but leave it after about 100 m to the right and reach Faulenseeweg. Continue straight into Riegelhalde and reach Höhenstraße, which takes you left downhill to Haus Hopfensee. There, turn right into Bergstraße and return to the starting point, the village shop.
