Danube beach adventure playground
A light, city-close hike with Danube flair and a destination at the family-friendly Danube beach.
The route starts directly at Ingolstadt Central Station and initially leads along quiet streets towards the city center – only once do you have to briefly cross the busy B13. But soon you will enjoy the Luitpold and Klenze parks with beautiful green spaces. From here, it quickly goes over the Danube footbridge – with a beautiful view of the New Palace – to the riverside promenade and finally to the green strip along the Danube, where trees provide shade and the water forms a pleasant backdrop. Along the river, it continues leisurely until the Danube beach adventure playground is reached – a popular excursion destination for families with many play and activity options.
The adventure playground at the Danube beach is located directly on the Danube shore and offers a large sandy area, extensive climbing and play equipment, slides, and swings. A special attraction is the huge wooden pirate ship, inviting climbing and exploring. Around it are meadow areas, groups of trees with shady spots, as well as seating options.
The route is easy to walk and is ideal for a relaxed half-day excursion or as a start to further routes along the Danube.
Author’s recommendation
The faster option is the route to the North Station - however, you can also take the same route back.
