Safety information
NOTE:
Especially in autumn, it should be noted that leaves lying on the ground can cover unevenness, roots, stones, or holes on the path. After thunderstorms or rainstorms, trees may still fall or branches may fall afterwards. Especially with adverse weather conditions, natural paths can have muddy and slippery sections. Not all rocks or ravines are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is required in places. You must expect such path impairments when hiking. If you believe certain sections are not passable for you, you should bypass them.
NOTE:
We strive to announce all closures caused by forestry work or hunting associations on this platform. However, there are situations where hiking trails are closed and we may not have been informed. If you unexpectedly encounter a path closure or detour, please observe the instructions for your own safety.

Roadbook
The start of the distinguished path is the Königskreuz in Göllheim, which commemorates the death date of the namesake of the route "Adolf-von-Nassau".
We follow Königskreuzstraße to the southwest (Yellow Königskreuz on a blue background) and reach after about 800 m the old Jewish Cemetery of Göllheim. One of the few views of the highest mountain of the Palatinate, the Donnersberg.
We pass a horse paddock and hike through beautiful deciduous forest (also many sweet chestnut trees) up to the signpost location Röthe. The hiking trail continues southeast past the dog park to the K78, which we cross. Over a meadow area the hiking trail continues to the right. We then turn right again (road to Stauf) and follow about 100 m of the K76 and turn into the forest. After the forest section we reach the road to Arleshof (self-marketing farm – www.arleshof.de), which we follow slightly uphill.
Open fields and meadows now accompany our path to the edge of the forest. We keep left, to the southeast. Before the forest begins, we can rest on a bench and once again let the view wander back.
Further in the forest, we reach a wide path, follow it shortly to the right and then immediately turn left through magnificent deciduous forest to the signpost location Hollerwald.
Here you should take a short detour (about 100 m) to the southeast to the Kesseler Kreuz (mountain).
Back on the main path, we walk with big steps past the old cemetery (worth seeing) to the most romantic place of the route, the Rosenthal Monastery, where Adolf von Nassau was laid out for 11 years from 1298 to 1309. Today, only a ruin remains – but worth seeing.
We walk through the village of Rosenthal to a beautiful landscape pond (rest recommended!), turn right and reach the Göllheimer Häuschen via Bauernkopf, one of the oldest inns in the northern Palatinate (www.goellheimer-haeuschen.de) – a place to stop for refreshments.
The distinguished path now leads us northwest (about 100 m) and then about 3 km parallel to the road on paths northeast to the L396, which we cross.
At the parking lot, we already see the Kriegsberghütte of the Palatinate Forest Association Göllheim (www.pfaelzerwaldvereinortsgruppegoellheim.de), where there is an opportunity to stop for refreshment on Sundays.
Over a path, we now reach the Ludwigshalle, a monumental building in the style of a Greek temple, erected in 1890 in honor of King Ludwig II of Bavaria.
Continuing along the path, we cross the L396 again and now hike across the battlefield “Hasenbühl,” where Adolf von Nassau died in the Battle of the Emperor in 1298, back over the Woogweg, Gutenbergstraße to our starting point, the Königskreuz in Königskreuzstraße.
