07 Eastern Austrian Border Trail, E25: Kobersdorf – Kirchschlag
Two healing springs in Kobersdorf, the impressive Landsee ruin and castle ruin, fortified church and passion playhouse in Kirchschlag – these are the highlights of this short stage.
In Kobersdorf we head south, cross the Mühlbach and then have a long forest section ahead of us. At first we hike slightly uphill on forest roads, then downhill briefly on forest paths, over the Tessenbach and then steeper uphill. We come near the ruin Landsee to the road into the eponymous town, which we pass through.
Over the Pfefferriegel we descend to Blumau and immediately afterwards climb very steeply again, lastly on the road, to Stang. We still use the road a bit further south, then a meadow path takes us into the forest. Down in the valley we have already arrived in Kirchschlag.
Author’s recommendation
There is enough time today to visit the Landsee ruin. Also near Landsee is the Klosterberg with the ruins of a Camaldolese monastery.
Derived from the technical difficulty and the stamina requirements.
