This route can be done with any type of bike and is the classic in the area.
The route goes over Hengstpass, Buchauer Sattel, and Pyhrnpass and is especially good to ride in spring and autumn. Even in summer, it is cool next to the rivers.

From Windischgarsten over the Hengstpass road to St Gallen. From there continue to Admont along the Enns. Then over the Buchauer Sattel to Weng in Gesäuse and past the edge of Admont to Liezen. There follow the federal road over the Pyhrnpass. Then downhill back to Windischgarsten.
