La méditerrannée à vélo
The Mediterranean by bike invites itself to the heart of the Luberon by bike, in the land of blue gold. Nestled at the foot of the Petit Luberon, Les Taillades and its watermill will surprise you.
A mandatory stop to access the start of the Calavon greenway, Robion perfectly embodies the typical Provençal village, mixing a central square shaded by plane trees, stone heritage, and a fountain.
Once on this beautiful path, all that's left is to enjoy the travelling over the Luberon, the Lavender Museum at Coustellet, or the picnic area at the former Goult station. A contemplative pause at the venerable Saint-Julien bridge will complete this day by bike before visiting the pedestrian alleys of Apt. A family-friendly stage once started on the Calavon greenway.
To discover:
- Notre-Dame and Saint-Véran Cathedral of Cavaillon: classified as a historic monument and built in the 12th century, the Notre-Dame and Saint-Véran Cathedral of Cavaillon is typical of Provençal Romanesque art. It features many chapels richly decorated with gilding and carved wood, contrasting with the austerity of its facade. Visiting it is also discovering a very beautiful cloister to reflect before strolling through the historic center of Cavaillon.
- Pont Julien: located at the foot of the Luberon, the Pont Julien was built by the Romans to cross the Calavon more than 2,000 years ago. Located on the ancient Via Domitia, which linked Narbonne to Turin, this bridge is now protected and a mandatory passage of the Mediterranean by bike. From this remarkable work of art, you can discover Bonnieux or Roussillon, perched villages of the Luberon.
