The route follows the picturesque stream valleys of the four watercourses, Ulf, Braunlauf, Hasselbach, and Our. This way you not only enjoy the sporty pleasure of a hilly landscape, but also get to see beautiful panoramas.
Along the border between East Belgium and Wallonia, you pass some villages. They lie peacefully in the open landscape where the Ulf and Braunlauf originate. Far away seem the dense forests here until you cross the Braunlauf in Galhausen and suddenly find yourself surrounded by trees again.
After an ascent, you can expect a wide panorama of the lower-lying Ulf valley. Along the Hasselbach, you then reach the Vennbahn, which lies embedded in the landscape shaped by Braunlauf and Our. In Hemmeres (D), the path touches the German neighboring country and turns at the end of the Our valley towards one of the tributaries. Slightly hidden in the hollow of the Ulf valley lies Burg Reuland, one of the oldest villages in East Belgium and the starting point of this route.
Tip: The castle ruins of Burg-Reuland are only a stone's throw from junction 72. The castle, originally dating from the 10th century, was the residence of the lords of Reuland. In the 18th century, it was destroyed by fire. It was restored in the 1990s.
