Obstroute - Buxtehude loop

It is at all times the ideal route to cycle through the Alte Land in all its "fruity splendor." The core area of Alte Land impresses not only through fruit orchards but also through traditional half-timbered houses, thatched roofs, ceremonial gates, bridal doors, and Nordic hospitality. From the Lühe landing stage in Grünendeich, the route goes a stretch along the Elbe dike towards Hamburg, passing several lighthouses. In Jork-Borstel, the silhouette of the Aurora windmill shapes the panorama. The route continues via Estebrügge. Following the course of the Este river, the tour leads to the fairy tale town Buxtehude. The permanent exhibition "The Cemetery of Immenbeck" at the Buxtehude Museum is a genuine highlight. Through the orchards, the route goes via Ladekop to Jork. St. Matthias Church houses one of the famous Arp Schnitger organs. On the Obstmarschenweg and through the Wettern, the tour returns to the starting point. Tip: a short detour for a photo shoot at the Hogendiek bridge in Steinkirchen.
