Urlaubsregion Altes Land am Elbstrom
Die Windmühle bekam ihren Namen zu Ehren der Gräfin Aurora von Königsmarck, die 1662 als Enkelin des ersten Schwedischen Generalgouvenrneurs in Stade geboren wurde.
Die Galerieholländerwindmühle aus dem Jahr 1856 hat einen 10 m hohen Backsteinunterbau, auf dem eine umlaufende Galerie angeordnet ist. Nachdem sich die Mühle nicht mehr wirtschaftlich rentabel betrieben ließ, wurde sie 1961 stillgelegt. Der Landkreis Stade erwarb schließlich das Baudenkmal und nach mehrjähriger Restaurationszeit ist die Mühle seit 1985 für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich. In den unteren beiden Etagen befindet sich ein Restaurant.
Public transport
Die nächste Bushaltestelle ist ca. 200 m von der Windmühle Aurora entfernt. Von dort fährt die Linie 2030 zwischen Buxtehude und Steinkirchen.
