The bike path connects the Hunsrück with the Nahe valley and offers views over the vast forest heights of the Idar Forest, Lützelsoon, and Soonwald.
The route plays an important connecting role in the bike network between the Hunsrück bike path and the Nahe bike path.
Author’s recommendation
The Lützelsoon bike route grazes the place Woppenroth ("Schabbach"), known from the "Homeland Trilogy".

Roadbook
The starting point of the bike path is the market square in Kirchberg. We cycle towards the water tower, turn left and follow a short section of the Freiherr-von-Drais bike path, which runs around Kirchberg. After reaching the B 421, we follow it on a bike path running parallel to the road to Dickenschied.
From the beginning of the village of Dickenschied, we cycle on the federal highway through the village and shortly before a left curve turn right into Paul-Schneider Street. We follow this out of the village past a small woodland. Then we come to a 1.4 km long gravel section. Southwards it continues over the 446 m high Galgenhügel to the sports ground of Woppenroth.
A slight bend to the left leads us downhill into the village to the village square of Woppenroth. Here we cross the main road and turn right before the church onto an asphalted path. We continue this southwards towards the forest. On a gravel section we cycle through the Woppenrother Struth and cross a stream when leaving the forest. Here we turn right, follow the bike path over fields for about 2 km and reach Schneppenbach.
In a slight zigzag, we pass through the village on a separate car-free path to the sports ground. From the sports ground, we ride on the L 184 to Bruschied.
In the middle of Bruschied, the country road sharply turns right, but we cycle straight ahead on the street "Bahnhof", also the district road towards Hennweiler. At a small rest area, we have an unobstructed view to the Idarkopf. In a forest section, we leave the district road; we have reached one of the highest points of the route.
On the next 450 m, it goes 50 meters downhill, which is a slope of 50 %. After a sharp left turn, we leave the forest and on a farm road go straight for 2 km, then sharply turn right, after 800 m we reach Hennweiler and continue cycling over Schulstraße to the main road. We leave Hennweiler northwards via the district road K 4. Here the bike path runs again parallel to the road to the recreational area Hennweiler. Then the way turns right towards the south and we cycle directly towards Oberhausen.
Shortly before Oberhausen, turn left again. Now it goes steadily downhill with large slopes into the Nahe valley. First, we pass a forest area, then go past Karlshof, turn in the direction of Waldeck and reach our destination, the Nahe town Kirn, via Jahnstraße. Along the Hahnenbach, the bike path leads us to the town hall bridge in the city center and meets the Nahe bike path. The Nahe bike path signage finally leads us to the train station in Kirn.
