Easy bike route starting from the Längsee beach bath parking lot towards Bernaich through the Wolschart Forest, continuing to St. Georgen Abbey, through Fiming to St. Peter and via Dellach back to Längsee.
The Längsee bike route in Central Carinthia is a beautiful route especially suitable for families and leisure cyclists. The starting point is the idyllic Längsee, a popular bathing lake in the region.
The route initially leads along the lake shore, where you can enjoy the view of the clear water and the surrounding hilly landscape. The well-developed bike path mostly runs on paved roads and small country roads, which makes the ride pleasant and safe.
Along the way, you pass picturesque villages and wide fields typical of the region. Attractions such as St. Georgen Abbey at Längsee and Frauenstein Castle offer interesting stops to learn more about local culture and history.
The route is approximately 25 kilometers long in total and has only gentle inclines, making it suitable for all fitness levels. There are several rest areas along the route ideal for a break or a picnic.
Author’s recommendation
Along the way, enjoy the view from the viewpoint at St. Georgen Abbey over Längsee before cycling through the infamous Wolschart Forest. Once back at Längsee, you can cool off in the clear waters and enjoy the local cuisine with domestic wine accompaniment!

The bike route starts at the parking lot of the Längsee beach bath. You cycle along the pedestrian and bike path on the west shore of Längsee towards Bernaich and turn onto the Friesacher bike path heading northeast. You ride along the forest path parallel to the country road, which you eventually cross, then turn towards Wolschart Forest. Soon you will reach the Maria Wolschart Church, where you can take a short break.
Continue on the gravel forest path towards Drasendorf past the Rottenstein penitentiary to St. Georgen Abbey. After a short stretch on the Längsee country road (cycling on the sidewalk allowed), you arrive at Fiming, where you turn sharply right and follow the row of houses called "An der Lauer" to St. Peter. On the further route, you can let your eyes wander over the siltation basin of Längsee. After a slight ascent to the so-called "Schwag," you cycle downhill again and eventually return to the starting point.
