The route will take you along Tržaška Street, past Tito Square, followed by a gentle climb up Ljubljanska and Kolodvorska Streets. As you ride uphill, you certainly won’t miss the Notranjska Museum in Postojna, which houses the Karst Museum. You’ll then ride downhill and cross the highway via a bridge.
You’ll continue through Stara Vas, where you can visit the Church of St. Anthony of Padua, once a very popular pilgrimage site. Continue along a less-trafficked road to Rakitnik and past the Postojna Airport. There, you can also stop at the Avio Pub for a bite to eat.
You’ll continue cycling for a short while along the main Pivka–Postojna road, where you’ll need to exercise a bit more caution. Cross the road in the village at one of the crosswalks, then turn right in the village and continue toward the Štivan Tree Nursery. Along the way, you’ll also see the Church of St. John the Baptist on your left. Continue past the tree nursery toward Grobišče, where you’ll turn right toward Postojna. On your right, you’ll see the Grobišče pond.
The trail will take you under the highway via an underpass, and then toward Zalog. Just before the village, you’ll see the Church of St. Daniel on your right, featuring the Pope’s Cross, which commemorates Pope John Paul II’s visit in 1996. The route ends at Neotropica, a true tropical aquarium, on Reška Road, which will take you back to your starting point.
