Jindřichův Hradec - Malíkov n.N - Dolní Pěna - Nová Ves - Nový Vojířov - Nová Bystřice (Bohemian Canada)

We designed this trip as a transfer. We picked up an electric bike at the guesthouse Na 15. poledníku in Jindřichův Hradec and this was our first trip. The route took us from Hradec along cycling paths by the Nežárka River to Dolní Ždár and then to Malíkov on the Nežárka (one of the protected villages). Along the way, we stopped at an inconspicuous, neglected building of a former excursion restaurant where Karel Čapek wrote the novel Krakatit. It is the first realization by architect Josef Zítek. From Malíkov, we set off directly from the village green along an unmarked field path to Dolní Pěna. In Dolní Pěna, we stopped at the maze opened this year (2019) - a natural labyrinth, children's attractions, refreshments with a selection of good hamburgers. Then we proceeded through Horní Pěna and the road through the forest around the Pěněnský pond to the junction and crossroads U Nové Vsi. From there we climbed a hill just to Nová Ves. Even from the map view, it is an urbanistically interesting settlement with farm buildings centered around a large village green with a pond. It is again a protected village zone. Then we made our way up to Nová Bystřice through the village of Sedlo, where we resisted the temptation to visit the local excursion pub, through Nový Vojířov and Smrčná.

Upon arrival in Bystřice, we managed to have a beer at the local microbrewery Nová Bystřice Brewery.
