Obec je svým urbanistickým řešením unikátní variantou raabizační osady z počátku 19. století.

Obec byla založena roku 1803. Pravidelné seřazení do značné míry typizovaných objektů kolem rozsáhlé návsi tvaru písmene „D“ nedoznalo od doby svého založení v roce 1803 podstatných změn.
