The Fuhne is a lowland stream in the heart of Saxony-Anhalt, which is a special feature due to its bifurcation and connects the two Elbe tributaries Mulde and Saale. Like a green ribbon, the Fuhne floodplain stretches through the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld. The Fuhne cycle path offers an eventful flora and fauna: floodplain residual forests, swamps, and ponds are integrated into various nature reserves and the Fuhne floodplain landscape protection area.
- Attractive due to the bifurcation of the Fuhne (two mouths) – exists only ten times worldwide
- the route runs partly on the EuroVelo route R1 near Bernburg
- cycle path runs mainly on field and agricultural roads
- Fuhne valley is very scenic and very interesting for nature lovers

The Rawanderweg gains attractiveness above all through the bifurcation of the Fuhne (two mouths), which is said to exist only ten times worldwide. An information board in the Fuhne source area near Zehbitz points this out.

Roadbook
A route along the Fuhne is best started from Jeßnitz. There is also much to discover in the towns, such as the Industry and Film Museum in Wolfen with its fascinating exhibition on the development and production of photo and cine films. Here, visitors embark on an exciting industrial history journey. In Zörbig, the traces of the Wettin princes can be explored. Over 1,000 years ago, the castle with the tower built in the 13th century was owned by the Wettins and was always maintained so that the lord of the land could stay there.
Following the cycle path, it is worth visiting the counterfeiting site in Radegast. No one denies here that over 200 years ago a pharmacist, out of financial need, eagerly minted Prussian groschen. This incident caused a great sensation and can be experienced today in a "counterfeiting" exhibit. In Cösitz, birdwatchers in particular come to their own. Due to the variety of birds, the 38 ha-sized nature reserve Cösitzer Teiche was designated. Also worth seeing is the former manor with a castle and a magnificent park, surrounded by the remains of a Slavic castle mound.
At the northern edge of the Schortewitz community, there is a 6.8 m long megalithic tomb made of granite and gneiss blocks dating back to 4000 BC. It is the southernmost of its kind in Germany. The route continues to the town of Gröbzig. "The small town on the Fuhne" lies charmingly surrounded by idyllic Fuhne meadows. Coming by bicycle, you can already see from afar the landmark of the town, the castle tower. In popular speech, the 36 m high tower is also called the "Mouse Tower." Thieves once sat here because they had "moused." Unique in the German-speaking area is the ensemble of the Gröbzig Synagogue Museum, consisting of synagogue, Jewish school, community house, and cemetery. From here, the Fuhne cycle path leads further to Bernburg, where the Fuhne flows into the Saale.
