On a former railway track (~ 25 km) between Pronsfeld and Neuerburg through untouched nature, from there on country roads and farm roads through the southern Eifel to Holsthum.
Fun & enjoying nature
Over the rugged uplands of the "wild" Islek, the path follows the Enz river to its confluence with the Prüm. From the junction Pronsfeld – where the Enz, Prüm and Eifel-Ardennes cycle paths meet – to Neuerburg, it goes almost flat along a former railway track. On this stretch, you enjoy impressive panoramic views across the Islekhöhen, cycle through two tunnels and through untouched nature to the historic Neuerburg with its picturesque old town and historic castle. Further downstream, the view opens from the valley deeply cut into the mountains to the sprawling Bitburger Gutland. Through the Enz floodplain, the path leads through charming Eifel villages and over a ridge to Holsthum in the Prüm valley.
