We ride on easy, well-developed paths and in some places even on old heathland paths. A visit to the "Waldschmiede", a museum farm that provides information about the prehistoric smelting of bog iron ore, is recommended.

We start the route at the Wietzer Bridge between Wietze and Steinförde and ride along the B 214 towards Celle. At the next cycle path signpost (RWW), we turn right towards the Bundeswehr depot. At the next RWW, right again towards Wieckenberg. Here we find the Stechinelli Chapel by following hiking trail signs. From there, we ride to the large intersection in Wieckenberg and turn left towards Fuhrberg. On the cycle path next to a restored old cobblestone trade road, we then reach the grounds of the "Waldschmiede". This is a kind of museum farm that informs about early, simple smelting of bog iron ore, a mineral found close to the surface.
About 500 m further, we turn right again at the RWW towards Jeversen. Shortly before Jeversen on the route, there is a model airfield. In town, we turn left again onto the B 214 and, behind the junction to Winsen, can take a detour to the tire test track, the "Contidrom", by riding straight for about 1.8 km following signs. Then back the same way to the junction to Winsen and turn left there. From the next RWW, we now continuously find pictogram signs for the "Aller cycle path". In Wietze, a detour to the German Oil Museum is recommended. We then continue on the Left energy route past the oil museum over Hornbostel to the lock in Bannetze. Then back to Hornbostel and along the Aller cycle path via "Weißen Stein" to Südwinsen. In Südwinsen, we ride up a small hill behind a riding area to the road to Oldau.
At the RWW, turn right and after about 200 m right again, passing the edge of the field onto the route to Wietze-Steinförde, where we arrive back at the starting point.
