Nine elaborated information panels explain the path to beer, one of Germany’s cultural assets. Visit the Berg Brewery and book a brewery tour with a subsequent meal in the brewery restaurant. Roadbook
Day 1
We start our joint two-day route at the Mobility Center Münsingen. At the Münsingen police station, we turn left onto Lautertalstraße. We follow the street for about 300m and turn right towards Fauserhöhe. Passing the sports field and the motorhome parking area Münsingen, we continue along the street towards Fauserhöhe. After 2.6 km of our route, we turn left and follow the bike path towards Lautertal. It goes down through Tiefental into Lautertal. Once at the bottom, we cross Talstraße. Shortly after, we cross the bridge over the Große Lauter and keep left towards Buttenhausen. The route follows Lautertal bike path through Buttenhausen, Hundersingen, Bichishausen, Indelhausen and Anhausen. From Anhausen we reach the idyllic lower Lautertal. The route continues leisurely along the Große Lauter. At km 25.7 we turn left and cross the Große Lauter. The path passes Unterwilzingen and continues to Laufenmühle. Here the bike path merges onto an asphalt road. We follow this and pass the Lauterach Biosphere Center. In Lauterach we turn left into the street "Am Hochberg." After 50m we immediately turn right again and follow the Lautertal bike path to the Danube estuary. After the railway underpass, we turn left and follow the Danube bike path towards Untermarchtal. After passing through Untermarchtal, the route continues along the L257. At 36.9 km of our tour we turn right and head to Algershofen. In Algershofen keep left and follow the Danube bike path to Munderkingen. The street merges into Emerkinger Straße at the Munderkingen cemetery. We take this to the left and after 300m turn left again into Martinsstraße. After 100m turn left and take the next opportunity to keep right. The route passes the market square and continues through the beautiful old town downhill to the Danube. We cross the Danube and immediately keep right. The path merges onto Bahnhofstraße (L257). Along L257 we follow the bike path to Rottenacker. After 43.8 km of our route, we leave L257 on the left and turn into Bahnhofstraße of Rottenacker. After 100 m downhill, there's a weir on the right-hand side to cross the Danube. The path merges back onto L257. We keep left and follow the bike path again to km 44.83. Here we cross L257 and continue on the Danube bike path towards Dintenhofen / Berg. After 300m the bike path makes a left bend. At km 45.55, at the fork, keep right. After another 650m keep right and continue following the Danube bike path. At km 47.2 turn right. We turn right towards Berg at km 48.7. The path merges into Ehrlosweg. We keep left and cross the bridge on the street on the left side to Berg. In Berg, we turn left onto Graf-Konrad-Straße. Passing the Berg beer brewery, our route ends at the accommodation Rose.
Day 2
We start our second day in Berg and set off towards Ehingen. Along the B465 we cross the Danube, passing the paper factory on the way to Ehingen. At the roundabout follow the bike path uphill towards Ehingen city center. The bike path ends at the top of the hill and merges into Biberacher Straße. It goes slightly downhill and at km 2.2 we turn left. We continue through Webergasse. This leads into Hauptstraße and passes by the market square of Ehingen. After the fountain, turn left and follow Bahnhofstraße downhill. This leads into Pfisterstraße where we turn right. The route passes Groggensee and the war memorial towards the roundabout. Before the roundabout we cross the street on the left and follow the bike path towards Berkach. At the traffic light, we cross Adolffstraße straight on. The path goes under B311 and continues on Nelkenweg. At the next street turn left and then immediately keep right. On Rosenstraße take the bike path to the right. The bike path continues to Berkach. On the left you can see the crane manufacturer Liebherr. In Berkach, turn right into Allmendinger Straße. Follow the street straight across the fields to Allmendingen. On Bergstraße it continues into Kleindorfer Straße. Before the railway crossing, turn left into Katzensteige. The bike path continues towards Schmiechen. At km 11.2 we cross the street and continue to Schmiechen. At the main street in Schmiechen, turn right to Schelklingen. Passing the biosphere host Austermann, continue on the bike path to Schelklingen. In Schelklingen at km 15.3 we cross B492 and continue to the Venus of Hohle Fels on the bike path. Past Hohle Fels, at km 17.6, we turn left. At the next opportunity turn right and continue on the bike path to Weiler. Shortly before Weiler, we cross B492 and keep right. Along B492 it continues to the main crossing in Blaubeuren. At the traffic light, we cross the federal road, with a tunnel on the left for orientation. After crossing, we follow the bike path on Weilerstraße. At km 23.35 turn left to Blautopf. Afterwards, we follow the same way back to Weiler. In Weiler, we follow Ludwig-Merckle-Straße and turn left behind the company, continuing on the bike path. The bike path merges into the Alb-Neckar-Weg. It goes continuously uphill towards Sontheimer Cave. At km 37.6 we turn right uphill to the Sontheimer Cave. Then we ride uphill on the paved road towards Sontheim. At km 39.2 turn left to Sontheim. Keep right at km 39.7. It goes through a hollow up to Sontheim. On the Blaubeurer Weg it continues until it merges into Wiesenstraße. On Wiesenstraße at km 40.7 turn right and immediately left again. On Lange Straße it continues to Ennabeuren. On Ulmer Straße at km 42.2 turn right into Steinstetter Straße. On Heuweg we turn right at km 43.2. The route passes a wind turbine (drop shape). After 600m keep right. After another 400m turn left. We follow the bike path to Feldstetten. Take the bike path on the left side of B28. At km 47.7 we enter the former military training area. Please DO NOT leave the yellow marked paths! and follow the bike path straight ahead to the exit below the old camp. Turn right at km 56.8 and follow the bike path towards Auingen / Münsingen. It passes the Biosphere Center Swabian Alb and continues to Auingen. We pass through Auingen and continue to Münsingen. At km 60.3 turn right and take the second left. Auinger Weg merges into Hauptstraße. It goes back to the starting point, passing the Tourist Information Münsingen and the Mobility Center Münsingen.
