On the “Uhudler Cycle Trail”—as the name suggests—you’ll cycle through the heart of the Uhudler region and its charming countryside. The route winds through rolling hills from Heiligenbrunn to Heiligenkreuz in the Lafnitz Valley and on to Eltendorf on the Hochkogel. The route passes through forests and past vineyards and orchards, partly along the Lafnitz River and mostly through gently rolling terrain.

The varied route combines nature, regional culture, and the wine-growing regions and cellar lanes typical of the Uhudlerland.

    Author’s recommendation

While you’re out and about, take some time for a short stop at the Hochkogel in Eltendorf. From there, you’ll enjoy a beautiful view of the Uhudlerland countryside—a well-worth-it stop on this varied bike loop.

The Königsdorf swimming lake is a great spot for a short break. Its idyllic location by the water offers a lovely place to catch your breath and invites you to enjoy nature and the peaceful surroundings.

    Equipment

For this tour, we recommend a well-maintained bicycle, a properly fitting bicycle helmet, and plenty of drinking water and snacks. Given the distance and elevation gain, it’s a good idea to wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring a small repair kit. If the weather is unpredictable, we also recommend bringing a rain jacket.
