The excursion to Augsburg’s green oasis begins at the Hochablass, an impressive weir on the Lech dam. Here, you can enjoy the view of the rushing water and the historic structure before continuing into the Siebentischwald.

After a leisurely walk through the forest, you will finally reach the Augsburg Botanical Garden, where a variety of plants from all over the world, fragrant seas of blossoms, and lovingly designed themed gardens invite you to linger and discover.

Of course, a visit to the Botanical Garden can also be combined with the zoo – it is located directly next door.

Note: The distance and time indications for the route refer only to the hike to the Botanical Garden – naturally, additional distances will be covered there.

Bring a picnic! There are numerous seating areas or lawns where you can lay down a blanket – including right by the playground!

It starts at Augsburg-Hochzoll station. From here, head south via Hochzoller Straße; turn right onto Höfatsstraße and proceed to the Lech river. After a few meters, cross the Lech over the Hochablass. From there, continue straight through the Siebentischwald to the Botanical Garden. A longer stay is planned here.

On the way back, we take the shorter path through the forest and cross the Lech on the (very busy) Friedberger Straße. Then turn right once to go back to the station.

Hallo Silvia! Ja, Hunde können mit - müssen im Botanischen Garten aber angeleint bleiben und kosten einen kleinen Zusatzpreis.
