From Hochablass through the Siebentischwald
Varied spring route close to the city: A dam, forests, and idyllic lakes await you!
The route leads through popular excursion destinations in Augsburg and is perfect if you want to get some fresh air with little effort.
It starts at Hochzoll station and from there the quickest way to the Lech river. Shortly after, you reach the Hochablass - an impressive dam, where the small bell tower can be seen from afar. When crossing the pedestrian bridge, you can watch the water masses rushing underneath you.
The route continues through the Siebentischwald, the northern part of the Augsburg city forest. After just under 5 kilometers, you arrive at Stempflesee, a small pond hidden among the trees. Almost always, ducks can be seen here, chattering excitedly when you walk past them.
The route mostly follows wide natural paths and gravel sections. There are virtually no ascents or descents to overcome, which makes the route particularly easy to walk.
