    Roadbook

    • Chiavenna - Pianazzola:  A stepped path leads from Chiavenna through gardens and vineyards up to the scenic and car-free hamlet Pianazzola (see route 'Pianazzola - Viewing Balcony over Chiavenna' ).
    • Pianazzola - Palazzo Vertemate-Franchi:  In Pianazzola, orient yourself by the church 'Chiesa di San Bernardino': Across the church square, past the cemetery and lavoir (public washhouse), the path leaves the village and leads with moderate ups and downs along the valley slope to the farmyards of Comusci, Crotti del Fregé, and Sasso. For the worthwhile visit of Palazzo Vertemate-Franchi (Renaissance manor house with garden complex, circa 1618), leave here the Sentiero Panoramico down towards Prosto – soon on the slope above the village, the historic area of Palazzo Vertemate-Franchi with the chapel 'Cappella di Santa Maria Incronata' and extensive garden complex can be seen.
    • Palazzo Vertemate-Franchi - Dasile:  From Palazzo Vertemate-Franchi, a short descent on the access road and at the next road junction turn right through the district of Cortinaccio (Prosto). Always keeping right, a marked path soon leads through gardens up the slope above the palace to join the Sentiero Panoramico after about 100 meters of ascent. Follow this either to Savogno or climb again at the chapel 'Capeleta de Pigion' (trail sign) up to Dasile, an alpine settlement in a scenic terrace position surrounded by old chestnut trees.
    • Dasile - Savogno:  The hiking trail with scenic resting places leads just below Dasile and meets the mule track coming up from Savogno. You reach the bridge over the stream 'Valle dell Acquafraggia' and soon arrive at the village Savogno and the Refuge Savogno.
    • Multi-day route: Next stage: Sentiero Panoramico: From Savogno to the Brentan chestnut forest near Castasegna
