Az állomáson található a kisvasút parányi fűtőháza, ahova éppen befér az egyetlen itt üzemelő C50-es mozdony, míg a három nyitott kocsi a két vágány valamelyikén pihenhet meg üzemszünetben. A vágányok mellett a kicsiny fogadóépületben a jegyek megvásárlása mellett üdítő, vonatindító tárcsa és kisvasutas póló is kapható. Az állomás mellett számos turistaút fut össze, így remek kiindulópont egy rövidebb kiránduláshoz vagy akár egy hosszabb túrához is.

- Dömörkapu állomás a pécsi Főpályaudvartól a 34, 34Y jelű helyi járatokkal érhető el, Dömörkapu (kisvasút) megállónál kell leszállni.

- A S turistajelzésen a Tettye tér, illetve a Misina-tető felől juthatunk el ide.
- A P turistajelzés a Remete-réttől Sikonda felé vezet, érintve Dömörkapu és Állatkert állomást is.
