A kétvágányos állomáson ér véget a Dömörkapuról induló szerelvények rövid, alig több mint fél kilométeres útja. Az egész évben közlekedő vonatokról itt leszállva pár perces könnyed sétával érhető el a pécsi állatkert.

Public transport
- Állatkert állomás a pécsi Főpályaudvartól a 34, 34Y, 35, 35Y jelű helyi járatokkal érhető el, Állatkert megállónál kell leszállni.

- Állatkert buszmegállónál leszállva, az állatkert bejáratával szemben állva jobbra (a Misina-tető felé) kell elindulni, és az Ángyán János úton kb. 200 métert kell sétálni az állomásig, melyet egy Y-elágazásban lehet megtalálni a fák között.
- A P turistajelzés a Remete-réttől Sikonda felé vezet, érintve Dömörkapu és Állatkert állomást is.
Parking
- Autóval az állatkertet kiszolgáló parkolóban lehet megállni.
