Az ország egyik leghangulatosabb skanzenje mindössze pár sarokra Zalaegerszeg belvárosától azokra vár, akik szeretnének egy kicsit kikapcsolódni a kellemes környezetben, és közben mindent megtudni a Göcsejről.
A barátságos, emberi léptékű skanzen a Zala holtága mellett, egy egykori vízimalom köré települve 1968 óta várja a látogatókat. Az ország első szabadtéri néprajzi gyűjteményének épületeit a Göcsejből szállították ide, majd építették fel újra. A lakóházak mellett a 22 településről származó 40 épület között találunk szőlőhegyi pincéket, fatemplomot, pajtákat, istállókat, ólakat, de még egy pálinkafőző kunyhót is. Egyes gazdasági épületeknek lakóik is vannak, kecskékkel találkozhatunk az udvaron.
A fent említetteken kívül megtudhatjuk, mi az a kástu (általában élelem tárolására alkalmas építmény), találkozhatunk a Göcsejre jellemző szoknyás haranglábbal, és még olajütő malom is akad. Akinek mindez nem elég, végigjárhatja a Zöld ösvény tanösvényt, és a belépőjeggyel bónuszként meglátogathatja a szomszédos Magyar Olaj- és Gázipari Múzeumot is.

- A helyi járatokról (1, 1A, 1E, 1U, 1Y, 10, 10C, 10E, 10Y, 24 jelzésű buszok) az Olai templom (INTERSPAR) megállónál kell leszállni.
