A legkorábbi síron Vulkán őrnagy neve szerepel, aki 1973-tól 1976-ig védte bajtársait. A szolgálatteljesítés közben meggyilkolt eb társai, Cigány, Kevin és Cézár hadnagy 2-2 évet töltött a haza szolgálatában, mielőtt elragadta volna őket a halál.

A korábban gazdátlan katonai kutyatemetőt a vonyarcvashegyi polgárőrök vették oltalmuk alá. Ők vállalták a sírok területének rendbetételét, amelyhez Vonyarcvashegy, Balatongyörök és Vállus önkormányzata is segítséget nyújtott. 2010-ben készült el a temetőt körbeölelő jelképes kerítés, emellett közelében padot és asztalt ácsoltak. A sírokra új fejfa is került ugyanekkor, amelyekhez a régi fakereszteket és felirataikat is hozzáillesztették.

A kutyatemető Vállus területén, Vonyarcvashegytől 10 kilométerre fekszik, a Büdöskúti pihenőháztól még 10-15 perc sétára. Néhány percnyire innen meglátogathatjuk a tiszta vizű Szent Miklós-forrást is.
