A pajta környéke szépen karbantartott, körülötte rendszeresen kaszálják a füvet.

A Festeticsek birtokaihoz tartozó erdőterületen a 19-20. század fordulóján több esőbeállót is kialakítottak, amik az arra járók védelme mellett vadetetőként is szolgáltak. A Hatlábú pajta első írásos említése is ebből az időszakból, 1905-ből származik – az összedőlt esőbeállót ennek 100. évfordulóján, 2005-ben építette újra a gyenesdiási Forrásvíz Természetbarát Egyesület, akik azóta is gondját viselik. A pajta régre visszanyúló történelme a környék nevezéktanában is megjelenik: a Büdös-kúti- (vagy Csider-)völgyből itt kiágazó mellékárok a Pajta-völgy nevet viseli.

Ferenc József fája

A pajtától pár méterre, a szekérút túloldalán düledező kopjafa, mögötte 250 évesnél idősebb, halott bükkfa, a Ferenc József fájának csonkja áll. 2016-os kiszáradásáig a dendrológia hazánk legnagyobb bükkjeként tartotta számon a maga 587 centiméteres körméretével.
