Long-lasting ascent from Mühlenbach to Landwasser Eck. Quite relaxed until Schonach. Also an ascent to Kalte Herberge. Otherwise comfortable.

With Haslach, the Kinzig valley is also left behind. Initially, the route leads towards Hofstetten, then turns left towards Mühlenbach. The Bücherntal is the first challenge of the day, followed by a long, fairly steep climb up to Landwassereck. Relaxed cycling is offered next by the Huberweg, which leads past the natural monument Huberfelsen and the Rensberg up above Schonach. After a short descent through Schonach, the bike path turns right towards Schönwald and then up into the Weißenbach valley. After Weißenbacher Höhe, you orient yourself right towards Brend / Bregquelle. The route continues fairly flat over Martinskapelle, Brend towards Neueck above Furtwangen. After a short section next to the Black Forest High Road, the route veers right to Neukirch. After a short descent on a quiet road, the approximately 2 km long ascent to Kalte Herberge at the B 500 follows from the "Wolfsloch". Then there is a ride through quiet, natural landscape along the ridge of Hochberg to the Margrutthof chapel. From there, on country roads towards Schwärzenbach, Kleineisenbächle to Friedenweiler and Rudenberg. For the stage destination, the "forest town" Neustadt, a district of the municipality Titisee-Neustadt, it is now only a short distance.

    Signage:

On forest paths and side roads, the traditional signage applies: white signs with the red diamond of the Black Forest Association with the bicycle symbol. They are fixed to trees or signposts.

On routes that run on official bike paths – for example, RadNETZ-BW – route plaques can also be found on the bike path signs. There, the on-route signage is provided by the general green bike path directional arrows.

11.11.2024 Stage 4: Coming from Friedenweiler, the route leads through Neustadt exclusively on the RadNETZ BW bike route and is marked by the route logo on the main bike signposts. The change applies from Schwarzwaldstraße to the Jägerhaus Hotel, where it connects to the previous bike path routing. Coming from Saig, the same applies in the opposite direction.

2023.05.13. New routing from Weißenbacher Höhe. New: Turn right toward Brend - Bregquelle. Passing the Elz spring, Martinskapelle, and Brend.

This eliminates the steep and uncomfortable climb in the Schochenbach to Alte Eck.
