A budai János-hegy meredek nyugati oldalában fekvő, apró állomás népszerű kirándulóhelyek közelében található.

A vasútállomás területe egész évben szabadon látogatható, a vonatok egész évben közlekednek.

Price:
- A teljes árú vasúti menetjegy irányonként 800 Ft-ba kerül.
- Nyugdíjasok és diákok félárú jegyet válthatnak, 4 éves kor alatt az utazás ingyenes.
- Számos további jegytípus, például szakasz, -családi, és napijegyek is elérhetők.

Public transport
- A Gyermekvasút valamennyi járata megáll János-hegy állomáson
- A Széll Kálmán térről induló 21 és 21A jelzésű autóbuszok Normafa megállójáig kell utaznunk. Onnan hétvégente elektromos kisbusz közlekedik a Libegő felső állomásán keresztül a kilátóig, a viteldíj felnőtteknek 1000 Ft.
- A Zugligetből induló Libegővel szintén hasonló távolságra közelíthetjük meg az állomást
- Budaleszi központjából a 22/22A/222 buszok Gyógyszertár nevű megállójából is felsétálhatunk jelzett úton.

- A libegő felső végálloásától a P jelű turistaút ereszkedik le az állomáshoz (1,2 km, 107m lejtéssel)
- Budakesziből a P+ , majd a P jelzésen, 2,2Km sétával juthatunk el ide, 152m szintkülönbséget leküzdve.
Parking
- Ingyenes parkolási lehetőség legközelebb a Normafánál van (korlátozott számban), ami tavasztól-őszig, a hétvégéken telítődhet.
