A hegy oldalában fekvő hajlott andezitoszlopokhoz hasonló formakincs található a hegytető közelében is, melyről pazar kilátásunk nyílik a környező vidékre.
A Béri-Nagy-hegy tetején a ritkaságszámba menő hajlott, oszlopos elválású andezit hátáről szemlélhetjük a környező dombokat, hegyeket és medencéket. Talán az egész Cserhátban nem találni még egy olyan kilátóhelyet, ahonnan ennyire tipikus szeletét látnánk a nógrádi tájnak. Alattunk feltűnik Bér, a kicsiny, lassan elnéptelenedő, majd a turizmusban új, egyelőre ingatag támaszra lelt zsákfalu. Szemben a Buják fölötti lankás, erdő borította hegyek hullámoznak (egyikükön a Sas-bérc markáns megjelenésű kilátótornya). Balra fordulva láthatjuk a Szanda kettős csúcsát, s rajta a várromot. A tájat egyébként az erdőket meg-megszakító legelők teszik barátságossá, és hogy az alig iparosított, városokban sem dúskáló térséget nem csíkozza be sűrű úthálózat, ahogy falut sem lelni minden mélyedésben. Keleti irányban a Mátra magasodik, hozzánk legközelebb a Muzsla gerince nyújtózik, mögötte a távolban feltűnik a Kékes.
Az apró, megkapó kilátóhely felkeresése nagyjából 1 órányi séta Bér községből.

- Bérről a Z+ jelzésen sétálunk ki, majd egy legelőn balra térünk a Z jelzésre. Erről a kőtár után újabb balost veszünk a Z▲ jelzésen. Amikor ezen felkapaszkodtunk, egy jelzetlen ösvény vezet ki a csúcsra ismét baloldalt (2,5 km, 201 m szintemelkedés).
