Idyllisch gelgen, einer der größten Wasserfälle des Schwarzwaldes, Kaskade mit sieben Fällen.

Die Allerheiligen Wasserfälle stürzen sich über sieben Fälle 83 Meter in das Lierbachtal hinab. Erleben Sie dieses Naturschauspiel auf dem gut ausgebauten Sagenrundweg. Dieser führt entlang der Wasserfälle zur Klosterruine Allerheiligen und über die Engelskanzel zurück zum Ausgangspunkt. Die Fälle wurden zunächst Büttensteiner Wasserfälle genannt und bekamen ihren Namen wegen der großen, tiefen Mulden, die das Wasser am Fuße der Fälle ausgewaschen hat. Bis 1840 war die Schlucht unzugänglich bis sich der damalige Forstmeister Eichrodt und der Forstaufseher Mittenmaier dazu entschlossen haben diese begehbar zu machen. Ein schmaler Pfad wurde an den Wasserfällen angelegt und an steilen Stellen mit Leitern begehbar gemacht. Eine abenteuerliche und nicht ungefährliche Angelegenheit. 1842 bewilligte die Großherzogliche Hofkammer in Karlsruhe einen Ausbau des Weges steuerte hierzu 100 Gulden bei. Im Laufe der Zeit wurde der Weg durch Sprengungen weiter verbreitet und   die Holztreppen durch Steinstufen ersetzt.

Seit 1908 sind die Allerheiligen Wasserfälle ein geschütztes Naturdenkmal und seit 2014 das Tor zum Nationalpark Schwarzwald.

Berühmte Besucher sind unter anderem: Josef Bader, Franz Michael Reichel, Mark Twain, die Zarenfamilie, Karl Baedeker u.v.m.

In den Sommermonaten - vom 1. Mai - 1. November fährt an Samstagen, Sonntagen und Feiertagen der Freizeitbus. Die Haltestellen sind Allerheiligen (Wasserfall) oder Klosterruine.

Directions

Autobahnausfahrt Appenweier von Karlsruhe und Freiburg her kommend, dann auf die B28 Richtung Appenweier / Oberkirch nach ca. 25 km kommen sie in Oppenau an. Von hier aus folgen Sie den Hinweisschildern Rchtung Wasserfälle / Klosterruine.

Von Freudenstadt her folgen der B500 (Schwarzwaldhochstraße) bis zur Kreuzung am Ruhestein. Von dort folgen Sie den Hinweisschildern Klosterruine / Wasserfälle.

Parking

Bei den Wasserfällen befindet sich ein großer, kostenfreier Parkplatz. Bitte Wertsachen mitnehmen.
