Die Wolfsgrube ist Zeuge von einer Zeit, wo noch durch den nördlichen Schwarzwald streiften.
Diese Fanggrube wurde um 1600 angelegt. Um die Grube zu verdecken wurde Stroh und Reisig verwendet. Darauf wurden teilweise lebende Ködern gelegt. Die verängstigten Tiere lockten durch ihre Schreie die Wölfe an.
Damit die Wölfe, welche auch als gute Springer bekannt sind, nicht aus der Grube entkommen konnten, wurden in den Ecken Steinplatten als Barriere angebracht.
Der letzte Wolf wurde um 1850 in der Region erlegt.
Von hier aus hat man eine wundervolle Sicht auf die Burgruine Liebeneck. Eine Pause lohnt sich hier definitiv.
