Die Litzauer Schleife östlich von Burggen ist einer der wenigen unverbauten Flussabschnitte des Lechs in ganz Bayern. In dem unter Naturschutz stehenden Gebiet ist der Lech bis heute ein Wildfluss geblieben.
Hier finden Sie auch eine Infotafel des "Lebensraum Lechtal" zum Thema "Die Litzauer Schleife: Letzte Flusswildnis am bayerischen Lech".
Diese Information wurde im Rahmen des Hot Spot Projektes Alpenflusslandschaften erstellt. Gefördert wird das Projekt durch das Bundesamt für Naturschutz im Rahmen des Bundesprogramms Biologische Vielfalt, mit Mitteln des Bundesministeriums für Umwelt, Naturschutz, Bau und Reaktorsicherheit sowie mit Mitteln des Bayerischen Naturschutzfonds.
