Magnificent viewpoint over the Gaistal valley and the Baden-Baden mountains as far as the Rhine plain.
Dobel - there is no other place from which you can reach the top viewpoint “Schweizerkopf-Hütte” without too much of a climb. On a clear day, the Schweizerkopf offers breathtaking views of the Vosges mountains and sometimes even across the Zaberner Senke as far as Lorraine. To the north, the view extends to the imperial cathedral of Speyer and to the east, the Swabian Forest can be seen. Anyone who sees the dense coniferous forests up here today can hardly imagine that the plateau between Kaltenbronn and Dobel was once almost unforested and that large herds of cattle grazed on the barren grasslands for centuries. The mountain names still bear witness to this today.
