The Catholic parish in Zornheim commissioned the sculptor Stieb from Nieder-Olm to create the crucifix, which was solemnly consecrated on 7 July 1918. There must have been a wayside cross in the place of the cross earlier. The vineyard location "An der Ruh" was decisive for the name. From the Ruh cross, the view can wander into the distance. You can see the Feldberg in the Taunus, the Frankfurt skyline, the Odenwald, the Donnersberg and the Hunsrück.
