Der Entspannende
A shortened Hiwweltour Zornheimer Berg with the Selzer Berg as the highest point.
If the weather is generally damp but it is really cold in the morning and the stars are shining, then a morning hike is worth it. You avoid muddy shoes and gain unique views. If the weather forecast announces optimal conditions for such a morning hike, getting up early is worthwhile.
The route is very suitable for hiking, but also for jogging. It is also very good for a walk. It combines the advantages of the Hiwweltour Zornheimer Berg with a somewhat shortened time and also leads to the open Hahnheimer shelter on the slope.
Author’s recommendation
Instead of 6.9 km, this hike (or running route) is only 5.4 km long. Just right for the early morning before work or on Sunday, or for the lunch break – or as a "work out" after work and before dinner.
The wine pavilion is run by winemakers from the Zornheimer district during the hiking season on Saturdays and Sundays.

WeinPavillon am Ruhkreuz - Hiwweltour Zornheimer BergSafety information
The descent after the Selzstellung is quite steep. Caution is especially advised in damp or wet weather.
Roadbook
Start at the wine pavilion. Instead of following the Hiwweltour directly, the route first goes up to the Selzer Berg, but turns off before the chapel into the Zornheim vineyards, goes along the slope and later back up to the Hiwweltour. A small detour, then past the little vineyard house at the corner – and the chapel is reached. The next highlight is the Selzstellung station, behind which is a steep descent and then the detour to the shelter. Next, the route initially follows the Hiwweltour, then shortens and comes in a slight zigzag almost to the height, but then already to the Most Beautiful Wine View 2020 Rheinhessen, the Zornheimer Ruhkreuz and the wine pavilion.
