A Vértes déli peremének sziklás kis gerincekkel élénken szabdalt terepét egyetlen, „reprezentatív” látványba sűríti a Pakodi-pihenő. Az alakját tekintve gyermekrajzot idézően szabályos domb tetején gyepes-köves tisztás terül el, csúcsán sasfaragványokkal keretezett pad áll, mellette tábla hirdeti a helyszín nevét. A hegység e részének sziklás, keskeny kis gerincélekben gazdag, zegzugos völgyrendszerrel árkolt felszíne teljes díszében tárul fel a Pakodi-pihenőről.
A magasságok és mélységek a Vérteshez hűen szerények, a sziklaformák bár kétségkívül méretesek, mégis tompák – barátságos, szelíd, a hazánkban megszokotthoz képest mégis részletgazdag tájkép tárul fel a pad körül. Szemközt a Meszes-völgy két sziklaborda közt áttörve mindkét irányban derékszögben kanyarodik a szokatlanul meredek lejtők szorításában, az erdőt mindenhol kis sziklataréjok és kavicshátas gerincek törik át. Északnak fordulva egy mellékvölgy és felette néhány tisztás látszik, de a hegyvidéket lapos tető „koronázza”. Délen a Mezőföld és a Balaton-felvidék magaslatai szegélyezik a síkvidék képét.

A félreeső kis völgyek sok muflon menedékei, és nem ritkán a lejtőket és gerinceket fedő dolomitmurva pergése-kopogása hívja fel a figyelmet a riadtan iszkoló állatokra.
Jelzett turistaút nem vezet a Pakodi-pihenőhöz, GPS-es térképpel azonban könnyű idetalálni, köszönhetően a jól kijárt, követhető erdészeti utaknak és ösvényeknek.
A padot és a táblát 2022-ben állították helyi túrázók, neve a csákberényi illetőségű Pakodi család valamely tagjára utalhat.

- A Csákberény, Rákóczi utca buszmegálló távolabbi ugyan, de ide több busz érkezik.

- A szövetkezeti bolt buszmegállótól a Petőfi Sándor utcán induljunk a falu széle felé, ahol a temetőt elhagyva völgybe érünk. Jelzetlen úton követjük a völgy alját, mígnem egy ponton szétágazik az erdészeti út: itt kövessük a balra, a hegyoldalba föl (és eleinte visszafelé) kanyarodó ágat. Erről a Keskeny-hegyen egy balra, rétekre kiágazó, szintén jelzetlen ösvényre kell térnünk, amely már kivezet a Pakodi-pihenőhöz (2,8 km, 161 m szintemelkedés).
- A Rákóczi utca buszmegállótól kövessük a falu központja felé kiágazó Hősök tere utcát, annak is jobb ágát. Ez vezet a Petőfi Sándor utcára, amelyen már a feljebb vázolt útvonalat kell követni (3,3 km, 174 m szintemelkedés).
