The Großer Stiefel is 398 metres high and is the local mountain in the south-west of St. Ingbert.
Almost at the top of the mountain stands the Stiefeler Felsen, a unique coloured sandstone rock shaped by water and wind, which may have been the object of religious veneration in Celtic times. The shape of the natural monument resembles an upturned shoe or boot. Next to the Stiefeler Felsen is the Teufelsfels: the 3.20 metre high pentagonal monolith was probably also a place of worship. Nearby is a refuge run by the Palatinate Forest Association.
