The Jährlingschachten offers beautiful view towards Sumava National Park.

The Jährlingsschachten is located on the southeastern side of a ridge at an altitude of about 1150 meters above sea level. This island within the forest, which currently has a size of almost 4 hectare, was first mentioned in 1622. The view of the Czech National Park Šumava beyond the border improves, the higher one goes at the Jährlingsschachten. Hikers can enjoy a snack at the keeper's cabin at the top of this Schachten, which was rebuilt in 1974. The small summit of Scheuereckberg and its summit cross can be found right next to it.
