Decades later, the Hautevolé was still at home on the rock: the industrialist Karl-Ferdinand von Stumm-Halberg bought the "Herrengärtchen" in 1853 along with the Gienanth forests.
The viewpoint was the center of hunts and forest festivities, to which privileged guests from all over Germany were invited.
Thus, the history explains the origin of the name as told by popular legend.
